Sunni and shia
The main difference in the sects is deciding who will be the next caliph. Sunni believes that any Muslim should be able to be caliph and Shia believes the caliph should be related to Muhammad. The similarities of the two groups are most of the basic Islamic beliefs. %85 of Muslims are Sunni Muslims. The other %15 are Shia Muslims.
